·Needronix cofounded STEPHANIK consortium

Today marks an important milestone for us at Needronix.
Together with CTRL s.r.o. and BIZZCOM s.r.o., we co-founded the STEPHANIK Consortium, a national initiative under Slovakia’s Transformative Innovative Consortium programme that brings 15 entities and more than 200 experts together to build a sovereign Slovak satellite capability. The programme is funded by the European Union through the Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The consortium focuses on strengthening Slovakia’s space ecosystem through joint R&D, knowledge transfer, and close collaboration between academia and industry. Its technical goals include developing a modular satellite platform for Europe’s future responsive space systems, creating core subsystems, and building ground segment infrastructure.
The programme will establish five joint laboratories in Košice, Trnava, and Bratislava, including two cleanrooms for satellite integration and testing. It will also train more than 100 professionals for future commercial missions.
As a consortium, we will explore new project opportunities in:
- Advanced satellites and in orbit services
- Complex scientific missions and payloads
- Lunar and martian rovers
- Downstream data and space sustainability
- Materials and components for extreme environments
- Launch systems
By uniting expertise across engineering, electronics, and software, the STEPHANIK Consortium positions Slovakia for a stronger role in the global space sector.
