Sun sensor Eagle Plus operates independently of the onboard computer. All calculations are performed by the built-in microcontroller, giving you calibrated information about the position angles in two axes. You can then define parameters and corrections for measuring and processing data over time.
Eagle Plus is supplied in a fully space-qualified state, having undergone all essential environmental tests necessary for technologies ready for space flight.
Fast integration with included Python Integration Toolkit
~/needronix/eagle-plus-toolkit
Bring up Eagle Plus faster with ready-to-use Python scripts that help your team move from first connection to real sensor readout. Instead of starting from zero, engineers get a practical integration starting point for bench testing, FlatSat validation, debugging, and ADCS software integration.
Verify communication immediately
Check the serial connection, receive a ping response, and identify the connected Eagle Plus sensor before deeper integration.
Read real sensor data faster
Access practical readouts including X/Y angles, irradiation, voltage, temperature, uptime, and status.
Accelerate bench and FlatSat testing
Use scripts the engineering team can run, inspect, and adapt during early hardware bring-up and system validation.
Reduce ADCS integration risk
Start from practical examples backed by Needronix documentation and engineering support.
Sample, Hold & Read
The SHR feature enables instant sun position "snapshots" from all utilized Eagle Plus sun sensors in one command. This highly requested function facilitates efficient data retrieval, enhancing the sensor's overall utility and versatility.
Health statistic data
Non-magnetic construction
Integrated temperature and power bus voltage sensors
Factory calibrated
Tested and calibrated in our state-of-the-art test facility
To deliver reliable sun vector data, each Eagle Plus sun sensor undergoes rigorous calibration and exceptionally precise characterization within our proprietary test facility, co-developed with the European Space Agency.
